I have a huge respect to the faculty as they are always trying their best to provide a quality learning to all students of Concordia University of Edmonton. I believe that they are all acting in good faith and they deserve the increase of salary for providing quality experience to all students.

I’m a student that cares about my professors and their fair compensation for their expected workload.
January 12, 2022
My instructors work very hard to help their students and put in a lot of time, so they should be fairly compensated.
January 11, 2022
My partner is trying to finish their degree and admin needs to put the needs of the instructors and students first. This is a university where else is the money going??? Admin, y’all too busy thinking it’s a business when your main purpose should be education

As a student currently attending Concordia, I consider myself fortunate to have been able to receive a high quality education from such dedicated and caring professors. I have witnessed firsthand how hard they work to support and encourage their students, and their passion and commitment is an integral part of this institution. Fair working conditions, including proper compensation, ownership of intellectual property, and job security, are essential to maintaining professor well-being, teaching and learning conditions, and ensuring that future students are able to receive the same calibre of education that I have been lucky enough to receive. I am proud to be a member of this community and to be able to support the Faculty Association during their strike.

As a student at CUE, my education is being effected & faculty deserves proper pay.
January 8, 2022
It’s appalling to me that an institution with the highest tuition in the city has the lowest paid staff in the city.
January 8, 2022
Mansions do not improve learning conditions.

[Professors'] concern for students has always been paramount and apparent to us without reservation. Their professionalism, humility and dedication is exemplary and serves as a model to us all. The very essence of Concordia is at at risk. It is shameful, that the administration has allowed this strike to occur.
January 6, 2022
Faculty deserve fair wages and should only be let go due to just cause. These are not outrageous demands - they are what fair working conditions look like.
January 6, 2022
I am signing because CUE Faculty makes CUE who and what they are and stand for.
January 5, 2022
It's the professors who made my university experience so memorable and positive, they all went above and beyond to give me the best possible education and support.
January 5, 2022
I have been so impressed with the standard of teaching and commitment to students and believe professors should be paid in alignment with faculty in other similar size institutions.
January 5, 2022
The faculty has always done the best and the support and dedication they put into helping us is visible. They deserve everything they are asking for.
January 5, 2022
I believe our professors deserve proper compensation for the work they are doing.
January 5, 2022
"We pay a higher tuition for small class sizes and outstanding professors. To find out that our professors and faculty members not being compensated equal to other comparable post-secondary institutions is utterly preposterous. The administration needs to show gratitude and respect to the faculty of Concordia University of Edmonton. Pay them what they're worth; which is clearly much more than you are giving them."

"I was greatly supported by my profs while a student. It is my turn to support them back"
January 4, 2022
"Because I stand by the hard working professors of CUE"
January 4, 2022
"Knowing the professors personally, they are resonable and grounded people. They show understanding and paitence with the students, so to hear that any of the professors are unresonable does not sound correct."
January 4, 2022
"My 5 years at Concordia was made so amazing by the amazing facility and staff! The small university that could would not be the same without such amazing people."
January 4, 2022
"The faculty is the heart of Concordia, and they are the ones in charge of students' education. They deserve to be treated fairly (at the very least), with comparable wages, a smaller workload, and job security."
January 4, 2022
"I support better working conditions for professors which leads to better student learning conditions."
January 4, 2022
"As an Alumna and past CSA student union leader, I know CUE's Professors and staff are its defining feature as an education facility. Without its teachers and staff, it is not able to provide the very thing the institution was meant to do. We went to CUE for its small class sizes and personable professors and staff. Without them CUE is just a building. We want CUE to continue its legacy of providing students with high quality of education, so that our degrees from CUE will still stand for something in the future."
January 4, 2022
"I'm signing because I believe I wouldn't have enjoyed or done well in my education if it weren't for all the professors I've had throughout my 4 years."
January 4, 2022
"The faculty, the professors who have done so much for me should be paid fairly. They deserve it."
January 4, 2022
"I am an alumnus and support the faculty striking. They deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. They are the lifeblood of the institution."
January 4, 2022
"I support my professors judgment. They are with us everyday and deserve more pay and less work."
January 4, 2022
"CUE faculty deserve fair compensation and workloads. Unfair low salaries, and overwork of faculty hurt CUE (faculty, students, alumni, and the CUE Mission) more than a potential strike would. Teaching and learning is a relationship that is, at its core, between students and faculty. The CUE administration's responsibility is to create an environment and community that allows this relationship to flourish; however, the CUE administration's treatment of faculty in regards to workload and compensation is damaging that relationship. Increasing enrollment and expanding the campus are important steps in growing the CUE community, but neither inherently foster the quality teacher/learner relationship that has both defined CUE in the past, and will surely be at heart of any future "pre-eminent small university"."
January 4, 2022
As a proud alumnus, I want CUE to grow, not become a larger shell of what it has been. I support CUE's faculty and the CUEFA.
January 4, 2022
"I stand with CUE faculty. Their teaching conditions are our learning conditions."
January 4, 2022
"I believe in CUE and it's mission. I also believe that if CUE is a great institution, it is because of the preofessors. I totally support them."
January 4, 2022
"The faculty are what makes the experience at CUE. The institution charges so much for tuition, it's unbelievable CUE is ranked so low on work to pay ratio."
January 4, 2022
"As a former Concordia student, I know that my professors and instructors worked hard - in music that was specifically so, where courses are only 1.5 credit hours instead of 3 but involve often 5 or 6 times the work (if you're lucky). Add in the switch to online course work and a global pandemic - the work load is enormous. Instructors deserve to be fairly compensated for their time and their expertise. "
January 4, 2022
"As an alumna and former President of the Students' Association, I know that the professors at Concordia are its defining feature as an institution. The mere fact that the administration has allowed things to get to this point shows a disregard for the cumulative and formative role that faculty play in a student's education. A university is an educational institution, and without professors, it cannot hope to fulfill its mission and vision as an institution or its legislative mandate. Concordia students want to receive a high quality education in small classes from professors that are treated with respect and paid fairly. And Concordia Alumni want CUE to continue its legacy of providing students with high quality education so that our degrees from Concordia still stand for something in the future."
January 4, 2022
"I believe that in order for the faculty to become effective educators the administration must create a atmosphere where they feel valued. By agreeing to the requests only benefits the students."
January 3, 2022
"Professors and faculty are the people who directly interact with students, daily. They are the ones who hold the most influence over education and student success and they also hold a large workload. For these reasons, they deserve to be compensated and treated fairly."
January 3, 2022
"I believe that my professors and other faculty members that have aided in my development during my undergrad deserve fair and proper compensation for their efforts just like every other university does."
January 3, 2022
"I have been disgusted with the emails students have received from the President regarding this strike possibility, where he chose to throw his faculty under the institutional bus and make it sound like they are "at fault" for a strike. This strike is happening because a University that has one of the highest tuitions in the province, with surplus, doesn't feel it necessary to compensate their faculty properly. The faculty at Concordia, especially the Psychology department that I have the pleasure of being in, has some of the most intellectual and professionally excellent staff seen all across the province. Us students are looking directly at you Concordia.... do the right thing."
January 3, 2022
"Support our profs!!"
January 3, 2022
"I am signing this petition because I am an international student and the university told us that their funds were cut and they don't have financial support to make the university run so they are increasing our fees, each and every international student paid almost 9000 dollars for spring semester. However, now we are getting to know that the last two years have been the most profitable years of the university and they are not treating the faculty properly."
January 3, 2022
"Because our instructors deserve a fair deal and the school has a means to provide it."
January 3, 2022
"I see how hard the professors work and they deserve to get compensated and fairly given the opportunity to teach in their own terms."
January 3, 2022
"The faculty and staff are incredible and deserve everything and more!!!"
January 2, 2022
"I LOVE the professors at Concordia. They care about their students, they teach them well and they deserve to be treated accordingly!!!"
January 2, 2022
"Through my daughter attending CUE I have seen the long term dedication of professors. I stand with them as they stood with her."
January 1, 2022
"The faculty are what makes this university."
December 31, 2021
"I don't want to be taught by profs that are underpaid and overworked."
December 31, 2021
"I'm signing because the staff at this institution deserve better especially because we as students pay much more than most other institutions across Alberta."
December 30, 2021
"The faculty work so hard!! We appreciate them!"
December 29, 2021
"I support the CUEFA. I am the parent of a 1st year student. We pay higher tuition than similar programs at U of A and MacEwan yet the instructors and educational staff are paid less. This is not acceptable and makes me question our choice of Concordia for post secondary education for our daughter."
December 28, 2021
"I strongly support the faculty for taking action against these unfair labour conditions. Educators need to be able to educate properly."
December 27, 2021
"I'm signing because I value my instructors, and want them to be treated with respect for the hard work they do."
December 24, 2021
"I believe faculty are the most important part of quality education."
December 23, 2021
"I'm a CUE alumnus that has been fairly vocal in the past about the institution's greatest strengths and weaknesses both on and off campus. It's mind-boggling to me that the same institution that was asking for donations from current students a mere few years ago to pay for a new building is now buying landmarks while underpaying/overworking its faculty. This is a place that offers courses in finance; maybe they ought to audit some of them."
December 23, 2021
"I'm signing this petition because our faculty deserves better! Even with these horrible working conditions they have done so much for all us students. They have provided us with extra time and extra work to help us pass and do better. They have put time aside for us when we have questions and need help. All this plus having to mark our exams, papers and assignments. They're over worked and they deserve better."
December 23, 2021
"I strongly agree that faculty working conditions are student learning conditions....faculty need manageable workloads and support to provide optimal learning environments for students."
December 18, 2021
"I am student at the university and I first hand know the feeling of illogical and quote "expected" work loads that can strain a person not only mentally but as well as other aspects in life. Teachers deserve a stress free environment like us students. The too have lives and families."
December 18, 2021
"I'm supporting the faculty and think the CUE administration is dealing with this in the wrong way."
December 14 2021
"I support my professors and believe they deserve a fair deal."
December 14, 2021
"I am a student at Concordia and would like for the situation to be resolved in a timely manner but also support the faculty with their decision."
December 14, 2021
"Our educators deserve significantly better than what the university administration is trying to push them to accept. These are our leaders, teachers, and our role models. These are our inspiration and our biggest cheer leaders. Faculty deserve better; get your shit together CUE admin."
December 13, 2021
"I received my bachelor's and master's degrees at Concordia. This was only possible because of the incredible dedication that the staff have towards teaching and educating their students. Please do not reduce the quality of education they are capable of giving by overworking them. They are incredible professionals who deserve better."
December 12, 2021
"I feel the faculty is being reasonable and have the right to reasonable working conditions and the right to have confidence in their employment."
December 12, 2021
"The reason I love Concordia is because of it's faculty. That is the sole reason I support this institution as much as I do. There has been a noticeable amount of stress on our professors, and they deserve to have the same level of support that they have shown us."
