Environmental Health Graduate Students Win Awards (November 2022)

Congratulations to CUE’s Environmental Health graduates who received awards at the 2022 Alberta Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) Conference.

  • Hannah Smith: Hannah is the 2022 recipient of the Fortitude Award, which is granted to a member if CIPHI AB who in their eyes of the colleagues, has had to deal with a particularly challenging situation in the field during the preceding year. This individual has shown unwavering dedication, perseverance and professionalism during the difficult circumstances.
  • Chigozirim Ugah and Brad De la Cruz: Chigozirim and Brad are the recipients of the CIPHI Alberta President’s Award for Academic Achievement. The award is granted to the student(s) who demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in the Environmental Health Program at Concordia University of Edmonton.

CUE graduate in the news (September 2022)

Area schools welcome new teachers: Brooklyn Gipman recent graduate from Concordia University of Edmonton.
Brooklyn Gipman has accepted her first teaching position at DVSS following her recent graduation from Concordia University of Edmonton. She will be teaching a variety of junior high classes-Grade 7 Social Studies, Grade 8 Health, Grade 9 Language Arts, and Junior High Foods.

CUE student Kelton Libich wins award for small business, YegRecycled (May 2022)

Kelton Libich, founder/owner of YegRecycled and a soon-to-be CUE graduate from the Faculty of Arts, has won the Goodwill Thrifting Hall of Fame – Vintage Finds award. Kelton is one of 5 winners from over a hundred nominees across the province. The first-ever Goodwill Thrifting Hall of Fame was held on May 6th at The Creative Hive, Edmonton. CUE’s Student Student Research Forum Winners (April 2022)

Student poster presentations in two categories (undergraduate and graduate) were judged by panels of faculty members and instructors. Student-presenters were evaluated on the content and design of their posters and abstracts; the content of their presentations; their responses to judges’ questions; and their overall performance.
